Building smarter businesses with AI, automation and operational intelligence.

I’m Em Frost — founder, operator, logistics strategist, brand builder and accidental AI systems architect.

For the last decade, I’ve worked across the messy middle of business.

The place where marketing meets operations.
Where eCommerce meets fulfilment.
Where systems meet people.
Where growth meets the reality of actually getting the work done.

I’ve built brands, managed social media for household names, founded a premium 3PL, scaled warehouse operations, worked with fast-growth eCommerce businesses and, more recently, started building the technology I wish existed when I was still trying to make sense of it all through spreadsheets, workarounds and sheer determination.

This next chapter is about bringing all of that together.

Not just talking about AI.

Building with it.

Not just chasing automation.

Understanding where it actually creates leverage.

Not just creating content.

Documenting the real process of building smarter, more intelligent businesses from the inside out.

What I’m building

I’m focused on the future of business optimisation through AI, automation and operational intelligence.

That means building tools, systems and frameworks that help businesses understand what is really happening beneath the surface.

Where profit is leaking.
Where time is being wasted.
Where teams are getting stuck.
Where data is disconnected.
Where decisions are being made from instinct instead of insight.

My work sits across:

  • eCommerce intelligence
  • warehouse and fulfilment optimisation
  • AI-assisted business operations
  • Shopify and merchant tooling
  • workflow automation
  • operational dashboards
  • brand and growth strategy
  • founder-led systems thinking
  • team accountability and critical thinking

At the centre of it all is one belief:

A business cannot scale properly if the thinking, systems and data underneath it are not strong enough to carry the weight.

Why now

AI is changing the way we build, work, sell, operate and think.

But for many business owners, it still feels abstract.

A little too techy.
A little too shiny.
A little too disconnected from the day-to-day reality of running a business.

I’m interested in the practical application.

The unglamorous, deeply useful side of AI.

The side that helps you clean up a broken process.
Write a better brief.
Understand your margins.
Connect your systems.
Train your team.
See what is happening across the business.
Make better decisions before the same problem appears again.

Because AI is not just a content tool.

It is a thinking tool.

A systems tool.

A leverage tool.

And when it is used properly, it can help founders, operators and teams move from reactive decision-making into intelligent business design.

My background

I started my career as a teacher, which probably explains why I am still obsessed with how people think, learn, communicate and solve problems.

From there, I moved into social media, content and digital strategy, working on brands including Vegemite, Heinz, Twinings, Bulla, a2 Milk, QV, PHILLY, DON Smallgoods and more.

I then built my own eCommerce brand, Solibar, which gave me a very real understanding of what it means to sit on the brand side of the table.

Orders.
Customers.
Stock.
Cash flow.
Marketing.
Margins.
Dispatch.
Mistakes.
Growth.
Pressure.

That experience eventually led me to co-found Virago Logistics, a premium 3PL built by brands, for brands.

Through Virago, I have worked with eCommerce businesses across beauty, wellness, fashion, baby, home, lifestyle and consumer goods. I have seen what happens when businesses grow quickly without the systems underneath them. I have also seen how powerful it can be when operations, technology and communication start working together properly.

Now, I’m building the next layer.

Technology and intelligence that helps businesses see more clearly, operate more efficiently and make better decisions.

What you’ll find here

This site is where I’ll be documenting what I am building, learning and thinking about across AI, eCommerce, logistics, operations and business optimisation.

Expect content around:

AI and automation

How I am using AI to build tools, create workflows, write briefs, solve business problems and rethink the way modern companies operate.

eCommerce and Shopify

The real issues brands face when scaling online — from inventory visibility and product data to fulfilment, margin, returns and operational control.

Logistics and fulfilment

What happens behind the scenes once a customer clicks buy, and why the warehouse is often where business problems become impossible to ignore.

Business optimisation

How to find the bottlenecks, tighten the systems, improve accountability and make the invisible parts of a business more visible.

Founder thinking

The lessons, mistakes, decisions and strange little moments that come with building companies, teams, software and yourself at the same time.

The way I think

I care about critical thinking.

Not as a corporate value printed on a wall.

As an actual operating system.

The ability to ask better questions.
To see what sits behind the obvious problem.
To understand the second, third and fourth-order effects of a decision.
To know that a small change in one area of the business can quietly create pressure somewhere else.

A tech issue is rarely just a tech issue.

A warehouse issue is rarely just a warehouse issue.

A staffing issue is rarely just a staffing issue.

Everything touches something else.

My work is about understanding those connections and building better systems around them.

Who this is for

This space is for founders, operators, eCommerce brands, logistics teams, marketers, builders and business owners who know there has to be a smarter way to work.

It is for people who are tired of disconnected spreadsheets, repeated conversations, unclear ownership, messy systems and decisions made without enough visibility.

It is for people who want to understand AI beyond the buzzwords.

It is for people building businesses in the real world, where every idea eventually has to survive customers, staff, stock, freight, invoices, systems and cash flow.

The bigger picture

I believe the next generation of strong businesses will not just be the ones with the best branding, biggest ad budgets or most polished websites.

They will be the businesses that understand themselves the best.

The ones that know their numbers.
Know their processes.
Know their customers.
Know their margins.
Know their systems.
Know where the pressure points are before they become problems.

That is where AI becomes powerful.

Not because it replaces people.

But because it helps people think, build and operate at a higher level.
