For the last four years, almost the entire tech infrastructure of Virago Logistics has lived rent-free inside my head.
Which… works.
Until it very much doesn’t.
As a #founder, this is kind of how it starts. You build it, wire it, remember how it works. Fast. Efficient. Mildly heroic. Also an absolutely terrible long-term strategy if you’d like a business that functions without you being the human API. 💾
So no — this is not how we do it forever.
The real work now is figuring out how to get what’s in my brain out in a way that actually transfers. (Notable reference to leaving the vast majority of my thoughts still firmly inside my head.) 💭
What I need is clear, repeatable, no-mind-reading-required information so new team members can upskill quickly and confidently across the business. 💯
Enter stage left: Loom. 🎬
I logged in today and did what any self-respecting operator does — I checked my stats. Turns out I’m in the top 4% of Loom Directors. Which feels big. Important. I assume this officially makes me a loom-fluencer now. I’ll wait for my annual Strava recap to confirm whether this has been a banner year across all platforms. 🤔
And honestly? I’ve just talked my way through everything.
(Subtle reference to my childhood nickname: Jabberjaw.) 🦈
We now have a dedicated video library covering the systems, processes, and tech infrastructure that run Virago Logistics — not just the what, but the why. The stuff that usually only exists if you’re sitting next to me while I narrate my screen and mutter to myself. (The office team usually gets a five-second countdown to action.) 🎥
The impact has been huge. ⏩
The team can upskill in Loo-minutes, not hours. I’ve stepped out of being the default problem-solver. Other people can step in, make decisions, and execute the kind of thoughtful, curated client service we’re known for — without needing me in the middle. 👋
Which is exactly the point.
If your how-tos still live in your head (or in a dusty doc from 2021), consider this your gentle but firm nudge. 🫵
From one loom-fluencer to another:
get it out of your brain. 🧠

Do you agree?
